"In her fever, she overheard the first knocking. Only when the noise became more insistent, did she lift her head.

"Hello! You in here! Please open the door!"

The voice. She recognized this voice. But for one reason or other, her glance did not go to the door of the compartment, but to the^window, where the nightly scenery rushed past at a scorching speed.

Nausea overcame her. The white speck behind the dark glass of the window was a face."
